The high quality and flexibility of the ATR aircraft combined with expertise, continued innovations and technical improvements make the ATR 72-500, the perfect platform for specialised versions such as the ASW (Anti Submarine Warfare).

That is why the Turkish Government confirmed its choice to renew the Navy’s aircraft fleet with ten ATR 72-500 in the version of anti-submarine surveillance missions ASW. This special version of the commercial transport ATR 72-500 aircraft, fitted with the maritime patrol functions already implemented by the ATR 42 MP, is capable of carrying out anti-submarine missions.

Benefiting from the resources of world class aerospace companies, the ASW version applies the latest high technologies and results in cost-competitive medium range aircraft.

The agreement, with deliveries starting in 2010, allows for the launch of intense industrial co-operation in the field of defence and security technologies with the main Turkish firms, both for project design and manufacturing activities.
